“Soon after I took over the family estate, I became interested in the Seyssuel vineyards. I knew some owners there very well and I immediately fell in love with the hills, the terroir and its potential for producing great wines. I planted my first vines in 2001.”

My family has been in Ampuis for many generations and has always worked in the vineyards. When I took over from my father Michel in 1998, I decided to carry out precision work on our different terroirs to bring out the unique character of these places, which are so rich in history. Working so close to the vines, we strive to bring out the typical elegance of the appellation. In this way, our range remains true to our roots and is for us the fruit of a long history and of exciting day-to-day work. The wish to cross the Rhone was too strong… On the steep slopes of Seyssuel, the similarities seemed obvious… I knew I’d found the soul mate (ame soeur) of the land near my village.

The vintages


• The Vineyards
Grape variety: 100% Syrah, planted in 2001.
Terroir: Seyssuel to the north of Vienne, left bank of the Rhone. Mica-schist, with a surface area of 2 ha.
Viticulture: Yields of 35 hl/ha; density of plantation: 10,000 vine stocks/ha; harvesting by hand.

• In the Cellar
Vinification: Selection in the vineyard and on the sorting table outside the vat room. Partial destemming and cold maceration in thermal-regulated stainless-steel vats. Indigenous yeasts.
Maturing: 18 months in barrels, with 20% new wood in the first year.
